Board members were unable to schedule an inspection at the above-referenced property.

Questioning 66 Governor Bradford’s assessment in comparison to the Bluff Road property. Mr. Ryan asks for continuance to review Tax Assessor’s comparable sales.

 

Motion to deny (market value/sales supported assessment) was made by Kristopher Leadem and seconded by John D. Alessandro Jr.; Approved unanimously.

 

Motion to continue was denied Kelley Torrey and seconded Kristopher Leadem; Motion was

Approved 2-1. Mr. Alessandro did not vote in favor of Motion.

William & Ellen Yost, were present at their hearing; Ms. Yost is a real estate agent. Questioning increased assessment; basic Farina colonial, they supplied Governor Bradford comps.

 

Motion to deny (market value/sales supported assessment) was made by Kristopher Leadem and seconded by John D. Alessandro Jr.; Approved unanimously.

Gene Oberhauser, was present at his hearing; his home was built in 2007-6500 sq feet. He questions the revaluation process in relation to his assessment.

 

Motion to deny (market value/sales supported assessment) was made by John D. Alessandro Jr. and seconded by Kristopher Leadem; Approved unanimously.

Robert Batting, was present for the hearing; Informing the Board his assessment has increased 18%-1890 farm house; 3/4 2nd floor-galley style kitchen-abuts preservation land; he states sales in Town has declined.

 

Motion to reduce assessment by $25,000 was made by John D. Alessandro Jr. No vote was taken on this Motion.

 

Motion to deny (market value/sales supported assessment) was made by Kristopher Leadem and seconded by Kelley Torrey; Motion passes 2-1; Mr. Alessandro did not vote in favor of this Motion.

        Barrington RI Plat 05/Lot 112- Assessment $2,409,200

 

Jerald Hyman, was present at his hearing; also present was Anthony DeSisto, Esq., who was representing Mr. Hyman. This property was purchased in 2011 for $1,100,000, his present assessment is $2,409,200- asking for his purchase price to be in line with assessment.

 

Motion to reduce assessment by $100,000 was made by John D. Alessandro Jr. No vote was taken on this Motion.

 

Motion to deny was made by Kelley Torrey and seconded by Kristopher Leadem; Motion passes 2-1; Mr. Alessandro Jr. did not vote in favor of this Motion.

 

 

 

        Stanzler, Alan Trust

        Barrington RI Plat 11/Lot 41 – Assessment $2,121,900

 

Alan Stanzler, was present at his hearing; also present was Robert Ryan, Valuation Concepts, his appraisal was submitted with his initial appeal. Third time he has appealed to the Board; states his waterfront property is over assessed; utility/access easement issues on property are unresolved.

 

Motion to deny was made by John D. Alessandro Jr. and seconded by Kristopher Leadem; Approved unanimously.
